Três tristes triggers

mural (2025)

13x4 meter (aprox.) charcoal mural on the gallery wall. Developed without a prior sketch, this work is a constelation of data containers, tools and their traces. The only elements that were planned were the two chapels of San Antonio de la Florida — aka the Twink Churches, in Madrid. The original one, on the left, has Goya’s frescoes of St.Anthony of Lisbon’s miracle. Later, the artists’ headless body was buried in the said chapel. As the conservation of Goya’s pieces was not compatible with the religious functions, an identical church was built next door. In my mural, using these buildings anchors in the composition allowed me to read every other element through questions of reproduction, function and fluctuation of meaning.
